Privacy policy

WindMana is developed in the Netherlands. We respect your privacy: the app does not require an account and does not collect personal data.

Location

If you allow it, the app uses your device's location to sort spots by distance. This is calculated on your device. Your location is not sent to us, not stored and not shared with third parties.

Data stored on your device

Your favourite spots and app settings (such as units) are stored locally on your device only. Removing the app deletes this data.

External services

To show forecasts and maps, the app retrieves data from the following services. These requests contain the coordinates of the spot you are viewing, not your personal location. As with any internet request, these services may see your IP address.

• Our own server (hosted by a cloud provider in the EU) – spot information, cached forecasts and live wind data
• KNMI (Royal Netherlands Meteorological Institute) – live wind measurements from Dutch weather stations, provided via our server
• OpenStreetMap – map tiles

No tracking or advertising

WindMana contains no advertising, no analytics and no tracking. We do not sell or share any data.

Children

The app does not knowingly collect any information from children.

Because we do not collect personal data, there is nothing for us to view, correct or delete. If you have any questions about privacy, contact us at windmana.support@gmail.com.

Changes

If this policy changes, the updated version will be published on this page.
